The Palm Beach Post recently reported on a string of robberies throughout the county which are being dubbed “bump and robs.” The premise is that the thieves follow behind a victim’s car and bump into him. When the unsuspecting victim gets out of his car to check the damage, the thieves get out of their car and rob him. The rash of bump and robs began in Boynton Beach on May 7th. The popularity of the crime has spread like wildfire throughout the County ever since.
Two of the bump and robs in Palm Beach County resulted in the victims being shot. Two suspects involved in one of the shooting incidents were apprehended and are currently being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder.
